A Chicago-area postman was sentenced to two and a half years in prison Tuesday for failing to deliver letters containing some $275,000 in charitable donations, reports the Chicago Tribune.
Frederick L. Taylor, a veteran mail carrier at the Berwyn, Ill., post office, pleaded guilty in August to possessing nearly 30,000 pieces of stolen mail containing cash, checks, or money orders intended for a charity located on his route. Court papers did not identify the organization.
