I’m Still Pregs, So Let’s Go Ahead And Recap Last Night’s Episode Of ‘Scandal’

Y’all. I am supposed to be on maternity leave right now, and the reason I’m supposed to be on maternity leave is because I’m supposed to be in the maternity ward of my local hospital, having recently given birth to a beautiful baby boy or girl. And yet. Here we are. Four days passed my due date. 96 hours later. And this baby is showing no interest in sharing his/her little face with the world. Le sigh. There are some lessons to be learned here: 1.) Due dates are bullshizz, 2.) Babies don’t particularly care about you or your plans or scheduled maternity leaves, and 3.) When certain PITNBrs ask your baby to hold off on entering into the world so that they can have their Scandal recap (hai Aisis), ish can get real awkward. LMAO! OMG… I am so effing huge right now y’all. But lemme offer a mini-recap for my beloved Gladiators out here. Click inside for more!

You guys know I had fun last night. First of all, my partner in babymaking was kind enough to bring me a red velvet cupcake from this ah-mazing bakery on our street, so there was that. Second of all, I friggen LOVE flashback episodes! We now know sooo much about Papa Pope, which means we know to be very afraid, lmao! Now since my unborn baby is giving me a few extra days to prepare for his/her arrival I have big plans to do that awesome thing where I cook and freeze a bunch of food tonight, so I’m gonna make this a quickie recap. Here are a just a few of my top special moments!

1. Abby’s Face…
Was everything. I mentioned last week that she was the girl who came back from summer vacation all superhot and yeah. We had more of that last night. What is the wardrobe department doing with our girl?! It’s the eyeliner, right? Yeah, yeah. It’s totally the eyeliner…

2. Olivia’s Dad Meets The Gladiators
Definitely one of my favorite parts of the episode. The Gladiators looked JUST like we all looked last season when we first met Papa Pope, lmao! Like, WTF?! Olivia has a… Dad?! And then when Olivia and Rowan had their phony all-smiles-behind-closed-doors conversation about Jake Ballard I was rolllllin’! The two of them on-screen together are so perfect, I love it.

3. Quinn Doesn’t Really Appear To Give Any Ph—s

Soooo, ummmm Quinn has balls, right?! I don’t know about you, but I would never, ever, everevereverevereverevereverevereverevereverever have the balls or ovaries to go through Olivia Pope‘s e-mail! That ish cray! But it was kind of awesome, because now Huck knows the truth about Olivia‘s involvement in him getting the deal of a lifetime. But I’m very curious to see how this all pans out in the end– if/when Liv finds out that Quinn went a-snooping, I don’t know how that’s gonna just blow over. Also, if Quinn is the new Huck… but scarier… and ballsier… then WTF kind of season is she about to have?!

4. Papa Pope Is ‘COMMAND’

Dude, I don’t even know what COMMAND is, but it sounds frightening enough that I’ll be writing it in all-caps from now on. COMMAND. Huck damn near lost his mind when he realized that Rowan Pope is the one controlling friggen Wonderland… and apparently the world. And by ‘damn near lost his mind‘ I mean ‘almost choked Olivia out and gawd that was awkward.‘ In this episode we learned that CIA and the folks who handle B6-13 are so gangsta, they don’t even have to answer to the President. Which makes sense seeing as how Papa Pope reminded us last week that Fitz is not in power, only power is in power (PREACH, Papa Pope!), so yeah. Olivia‘s Dad AKA COMMAND really and truly runs ish, and we should all be very afraid.

5. President Fitz Is A Damn Liar, But At Least He Brought Jake Back

So after all the trouble Liv and the Gladiators went through to defend Jeanine against White House claims that she was the President‘s mistress, she and the President both decide to lie anyway! Jeanine makes a deal with Mellie, in which she was supposed to get $2 million to ‘admit’ to the phony affair and go away. But before she even got the chance to lie in her interview (and truthfully, we don’t know if Olivia had done a good job of talking her out of it), Fitz went on national television and lied about having the affair with her! However, we know he did it in an attempt to bargain with Cyrus and the B6-13 crew so they would let Jake Ballard go. And voila! Enter Jake Ballard at the end of the episode, looking (unfortunately) a little throwback Huck-ish because that’s what happens when you’ve been in a hole or whatever.

Did you guys love this episode or what? And how good were some of these lines?

Quote It:

Do you think you and your Dad could eat at a place that has cheeseburgers? I really want a cheeseburger.

(Huck to Olivia)

You’re evil.
You’re welcome.

(Cyrus and Mellie)

I know I’ve taught you a lot of things, but you should try to be less like me.

(Huck to Quinn)

How Presidential are my balls now?

(Fitz to Cyrus)

Can’t wait ’til next week/if I’m still pregs, seriously. Nobody talk to meeee!!!
