Household fuel bills will hit new peaks in the new year after E.On became the last of the big six energy suppliers to raise prices.
More than six million households are to be more than ?100 worse off a year after E.On said it would be increasing its charges by on average nearly 9 per cent.
E.On customers on standard credit arrangements will from January 18 on average pay ?1,370 for their gas and electricity, the highest average dual fuel bills in the industry. Householders with larger family-sized properties will pay considerably more.
